Casa Amalia is a holistic 24/7 Dementia Care Centre housed in a traditional palazzino, close to the hustle and bustle of the city, yet cocooned in a peaceful little square within easy reach of the community.

A Home Away From Home
Located in the centre of Victoria, Casa Amalia provides safety, comfort, and the provision of nursing care for persons with dementia.
The home is welcoming, warm, and spacious, with en suite bathrooms for extra comfort and privacy, and a lounge area for socialising. Its set up and features provide familiarity and the feel of a domestic environment, providing a safe, comfortable space for those who avail of its services.
Casa Amalia is part of the Ministry for Gozo and Planning’s free of charge service provision. The home has been professionally refurbished and converted into a state-of-the-art Dementia Centre, in line with planning and design guidelines set by Alzheimer’s Disease International.

Daily Life at Casa Amalia
At Casa Amalia, cliente remain active members of the community. The Centre’s location facilitates visits to several places. The Centre’s welcoming atmosphere is further augmented by a selection of dally activities that clients can participate in and which aim to further maximise each individual’s potential. These Include:
• Crafts and gardening
• Home chores and cooking
• Dancing and exercise sessions
• Entertainment, such as tombola and karaoke
• Outings and local community visits
The stimulating activities on offer help clients maintain interests and relationships, reducing the effects of memory impairment and leading to a better quality of life.

Clients at Casa Amalia are also served breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, in line with individual dietary requirements. Meal times further emphasise the communal spirit of the home.
